To the users of reversing loop modules!
Due to an individual inquiry by contact form I may give here in the forum the information to be considered.
Reverse loop modules in 2-wire operation detect the short-circuit current that flows at the disconnection point at the moment of crossing. Depending on the manufacturer of these modules, the current threshold and sometimes also the short-circuit duration can usually be set. The latter time must not, of course, be longer than the booster needs to switch off.
If LD-1x uses an energy storage device, the decoder activates the charging function depending on the state of charge of the energy store. This causes an additional current, which is between 100 and max. 500 mA depending on the stores power. This current may mislead the sensors of the reversing loop module into thinking that a short-circuit is present. If the reversing loop module switches back and forth unnecessarily, the response threshold must be raised accordingly. Pay attention also to any additional loads caused by motors and lighting etc..
Depending on the manufacturer of the reversing loop module, the parameters must be set accordingly. It is important that the booster supplying the reversing loop module provides sufficient power reserves.
